It is just so difficult to TRULY realize how BROKEN the system of finances is/are in hollywood, and to be fair a lot of it is by design. How do multimillion dollar blockbusters that make half a billion dollars translate to “box office failures” on paper? Surely there has to be more to it right? Oh boy there is……. Luckily a youtuber by the name of MORNINGBREW was able to break it down into a fairly digestible grift for the average joe to understand. THERE IS NO BETTER WAY TO UNDERSTAND SHADY HOLLYWOOD than to make a fake movie and go thru its SYSTEM!
I first learned about all of the tax evasion, the money laundering, the shell companies, the umbrella productions first when studying film production for an associates degree and let me tell you…….there is A LOT of greasy grimy and shady nonsense that goes on in Hollywood accounting and it has been this way for YEARS–scratch that DECADES!. MORNINGBREW is able to point and lead by literal exmaple here and that’s why I appreciate it so much. It’s like learning how to paint by just painting BUT with something completely unrelated involving money and not art….so maybe not
Hollywood and Vegas in my opinion (and all of the local carwashes that have popped up in my community in the last 4 years) are the two biggest money laundering apparatuses in America currently and they’ve been operating as such for so long that all of their ins and outs have ins and outs. I could keep vageuly yapping on and on and on about it….mostly because I can give examples and anecdotes, little pieces of the whole per se but never a fully structure overview of it all. IT JUST SEEMED TOO BIG to condense for me,,,, no excuses but that’s the truth.
All of that to say: This video does what I cannot, so in the spirit of my mission at THE18734 I an obligation to share spread and report this topic. ENJOY!
