We here we are………. the release of the MARIO GALAXY movie on the horizon and Nintendo is once again dealing with leaks at the worst possible time. Don’t get me wrong, good for us (bad for them) and something uber exciting. We will get to that in a second but first I gotta ask: Are you excited for the new MARIO flick? I know I am! I know my kids are. I know we are gonna pile on down to our local theater and CHECK IT OUT! fun fact…..it’s my birthday Tomorrow (and that IS NOT an april Fool’s joke). buuuuuuuuuuuuuuut here’s the reason we are all here. LET’S TALK ABOUT IT!
ICYMI here’s the TLDR on what happened:
In late March (as the hype for the Mario movie release was still in full effect) a WAVE of insider reports began circulating online outlining what looked like a roadmap for Nintendo’s next phase (I personally found out from IGN). The buzz has shifted almost entirely from official announcements to rumored projects—everything from a full remake of a ZELDA CLASSIC to a new Star Fox game and future Mario plans. Whether all of it holds up or turns out to be complete dookie…..we shall see– and Nintendo reportedly isn’t thrilled about it.
This type of thing ain’t new though, Nintendo has been dealing with leaks like this for YEARS, from the massive “gigaleaks” that surfaced in like 2020 and 2021 to the steady drip of insider reports that have become more common throughout the 2020s (that just feels so WEIRD to say…ewwww). ONLY difference here is how quickly info spreads and how detailed these reports can be. Alas, Nintendo’s strategy has always relied on tightly controlled reveals via Direct presentations, so……. when something breaks early, it can disrupt more than just hype and chap their arse.
Ok….ok….. get to the LEAKS already Dakk:
Ok…. for the current rumors, the biggest headline is the alleged full remake of Ocarina of Time, which insiders claim is targeting a 2026 release! (applause). If that’s true, this wouldn’t be a simple visual upgrade but a complete OVERHAUL, something closer to a modern reinterpretation than a remaster (like resident evil mayhaps). Reports also suggest a new Star Fox title rumored to arrive in late 2026 or even early 2027.
The coolest thing about the SF game is that its aiming to recapture the arcade-style gameplay of earlier entries (please please please throw in a dash in SF 64). There are mentions of upgraded versions of existing titles as well….. potential revivals like Rhythm Heaven, and continued support for series like Fire Emblem and Splatoon. Here is a list of other rumored titles:

- Pikmin 4 (Switch 2 Edition)
- Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (Switch 2 Edition)
- Possible Switch Sports follow-up or
- upgrade Devil May Cry 5 (Switch 2 version) spotted via ratings boards
- New exclusives like Duskbloods (FromSoftware-related)
- Third-party support is even ramping up
One of the stranger details is the apparent absence/conflicting reports of a new 3D Mario in the immediate pipeline, with some reports suggesting it’s being held until 2027. Given the current spotlight on Mario, that delay feels intentional (is Nintendo saving its biggestreveal for a more impactful moment rather than stacking everything at once? some suggest it, I say no…..unless the leaks itself came from them)
my 2 cents
At the end of the day, when ya have leaks like this always the tend to live in that gray area between credible and speculative. Things change…… Dates shift, projects evolve, and wheels turn CONSTNATLY behind the scenes. and with the advent of guerilla marketing, companies seem to manufacture leaks fromt ime to time in a ‘kayfabe’ style SOOOO taken together, this particular wave of leaks paints a picture of a company carefully laying down a solid strategic ROADMAP.
If even part of this turns out to be true than Nintendo’s upcoming years won’t be about rushing out headlines but about timing these 1-2 hits to rock a KO on the fanbase. IDK, I just work hears (shrug). But uh yeah, that’s the scoop. on that
