Production on Anaconda was officially announced in January 2020, with the project later evolving into a self-aware comedy reboot directed by Tom Gormican. Principal photography began in Queensland, Australia during January 2025 and officially wrapped in late February 2025, giving the production a relatively fast shooting schedule of roughly two months.
